The Inheritance Trilogy ***1/2

by John
(Farmsville, Virginia, USA)

You probably don't need me to tell you about The Inheritance Trilogy. Given all of the publicity surrounding the movie adaptation you've probably all heard at least something about these novels.

Now, there are a few things that are reminiscent of The Lord of the Rings in this (after all, what fantasy isn't slightly?). However, it is a fun read, and enjoyable. It has a solid plot and many good characters.

First in this series is Eragon and then Eldest. At the end of Eldest the reader discovers a very important secret, and it is quite suspenseful.

Don't bother with the movie. It doesn't do the books justice by a half.

Ignore the resemblances to Tolkien and just enjoy this fun series.
